Scilla Allen
After leaving school I went to Worthing Art College from there I went to Newport Art College in South Wales where I studied Graphics/Illustration which I really loved. Our teaching was based on really looking and seeing in order to be able to draw really well. I loved the process of Litho while I was there and although this was difficult to pursue when not at college I have done a course of this taught by a friend at North Star Studios in Brighton.
At that time I was doing a lot of pen and ink drawings and lino cuts usually based on natural forms. At the moment I’m using anything that comes to hand – pastels, oil pastels, acrylics and over the last few years have discovered Sculpture.
Mary Kinsella
Mary’s work is inspired by the beauty and power of nature, whether it be the everchanging seascape or the majesty of a cool forest scene.
Her work has naturally evolved in exploring her passion for colour and expressing joyful exuberance and continues to deliver imaginative lyrical abstract works.
Nina Smith
Nina is a fused glass artist who creates beautiful artworks including jewellery, suncatchers and art panels using cut, crushed and powdered glass which is fused together in a kiln.
Brought up in Cornwall, the daughter of two potters, her early life was not only heavily influenced by a wealth of local artists, but also the magical colours of the sea and land. As a former graphic designer, her inherent design skill translates perfectly to her glass work. Combining textures, layers and colours, she produces bold graphic patterned glasswork.
